PFLAGs Shelly Argent calls on Malcom Turnball to release the findings of the Religious Freedom Review

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has said that he is “absolutely committed to ensuring freedom of religion is protected in Australia”, after having received Philip Ruddock’s review of religious freedoms.

However, we are still waiting on the reviews findings to be made public.

We are told that the government’s response to the review will be released to the public “in due course”, but parents with LGBTIQ children are calling on Malcolm Turnball to announce the recommendations of the Religious Review immediately.

Dean Arcuri speaks with Shelly Argent, the national spokesperson for PFLAG, the volunteer peer support group promoting acceptance and understanding of people who disclose their sexual diversity to family and loved ones. When their loved one “comes out”, PFLAG is there to offer assistance.

This segment aired on The Informer on JOY 94.9 on 30th May 2018.
