The Open Table
The Open Table is a place of safety and expression of LGBTQIA+ spirituality. Many in the rainbow community are spiritual, and many have also come from religious backgrounds that have been harmful and exclusionary. If they aren’t from a ‘religious’ background, they have certainly experienced responses from institutional religions ranging from discomfort to rejection to hate. Host Craig Brown, has been working out how his faith aligns with the enormous life changes he has experienced, acknowledging his same sex attraction. He has long been a critic of the way institutional religion has become institutionalised instead of orientated around people and their inherent worth.
