How can we be Lovers by Michael Bolton. 1990 single from Soul Provider, his 6th studio album, released in 1989.
The Heat is On by Glenn Frey. Frey died this week from complications from rheumatoid arthritis, colitis and pneumonia. He was just 67. This is his best known solo track, from Beverly Hills Cop in 1984.
Hotel California by The Eagles. Frey co-wrote this as the title track to their 1976 album. This is the 1994 MTV unplugged version.

*Quiet Art by Wendy Matthews. 1994 track included in a compilation CD called Australian Women in Song that I got from 3 Chords and the Truth host Andy this week. Thank you, Andy!
*Sister Yappa by Ruby Hunter. Another 1994 track from that same album. Hunter passed away in Feb 2010.
*Spider and Fly by Ruth Apelt. Yet another track…same year, same album. This this woman is new to me! Brisbane folk singer who was up and coming in the 90s, supporting Ani DiFranco and others when they touried Oz.
*Come On by Christine Anu. 1995 track from Andy’s compilation cd.
*Hard Love by Vika and Linda. First track on their 1994 self-titled debut. They are the Bull sisters and have worked with everybody here in Oz, including a stint on Rockwiz.
*You Don’t Speak for Me by Judy Small. Catch this, she’s a retired folk singer, out lesbian AND now a Federal Circuit Court judge! This is from her 1988 album, Home Front. I have it on a Best Of album and my partner saw her play in Geelong back in the day…
SOS by Resurrection Band or Rez Band. From their 1984 new wave album, Hostage, their 10th album.
+Little Crazy by Fight. Rob Halford’s band after he left Judas Priest. This is from their 1993 debut album, War of Words. Halford was joined by Judas Priest drummer Scott Travis, Russ Parrish on guitar, Brian Tilse on guitar and keyboards and Jack “Jay Jay” Brown on bass guitar.
+Wild Thing by The Sandy West Band. Live recording from 1983. West died back in 2006 from lung cancer. She was, of course, one of the founding members of The Runaways with Joan Jett and was bisexual.
+Cannonball by the Breeders. From 1993’s Last Splash, the group’s second album, but first following the break up of The Pixies – Kim Deal, Breeders’ lead vocal and guitarist had been with them first. This song is their biggest hit. Josephine Wiggs is their lesbian member.
This Man by Phill and Friends Band. 1980 single from this Canadian outfit.
Here Comes the Night by Nick Gilder. 1978 single from his second album, City Nights. He’s the English-Canadian former frontman for Canadian glam band Sweeney Todd.
