Never Knew Love Like This Before by Stephanie Mills. Request.

Aussies – Letter F and no bands I’ve played this year
*Midnight Man by Flash and the Pan. 1985 single that only hit 66 on the charts here in Oz but did quite well in the Netherlands, #23*You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet by Funaddicts. 1988 ska cover of this Bachman Turner Overdrive hit. From their EP, The Turn Out*Over Now by The Falling Joys. They were a pretty busy Canberra band that I have only played once or twice. They were led by Suzie Higgie on both lead vocals and guitar*Caesar’s Surrender by The Fauves. (beasts in French). Title track from their May 1995 EP; it also appeared previously on The Young Need Discipline album in 1994.
*Hey Spunky by Finch. 1976 single from this relatively short-lived Aussie band that started life as Stillwater in 1973, changed it to Finch and then was forced to change their name again in 1978 because a Dutch band with the same name was bigger. This band became Contraband and then broke up the following year.
*Can’t Help Myself by Flowers. This is the 12” version of their debut single from May 1980. They became Icehouse in 1981 when another band challenged their use of the Flowers name.
Bouncin’ off the Walls by Matthew Wilder. 1984 or 85, his final single and the title track to his last album. He’s considered a 1-hit wonder for Break My Stride… A LOT of speculation about his sexuality, too, but I can’t confirm anything…
Let’s All Chant by Pat and Mick. They are the London duo of Pat Sharp and Mick Brown. Every year between 1988-1993, they released a charity single. This was the first. The royalties went to Capital FM’s Help a London Child charity. All were produced by Stock Aitken & Watermen and were covers.
Two People by Tina Turner. From her 1986 album, Break Every Rule, her 6th solo album and the second after her 1980s come back.
Me and Those dreamin’ Eyes of Mine by D’Angelo. Request.
No More the Fool by Elkie Brooks. 1986 solo release and the title track to her 9th solo album. She’s English and prolific with a capital P! She was in a couple of different bands, Dada and Vinegar Joe, back in the 60s and early 70s. Went solo in 1975 and is still active today. … and yet I’ve never heard of her…
We Connect by Stacey Q. 1987 single from Better than Heaven, her second album. She’s American.
