You Make Loving Fun by Fleetwood Mac. Written and sung by Christine McVie this track was separately published as the fourth and final 45 single from the band’s 11th album Rumours in 1977. “You Make Loving Fun” was also the first song published by Cyndi Lauper who was commissioned in 1977 to record several songs that had been written by other artists.

+Wonderman by Right Said Fred. Brothers Fred and Richard Fairbrass…Richard is the bisexual brother. This is from their second album, Sex and Travel. Reminds me of a tshirt worn by an elderly Hungarian woman I knew…If you like… She had NO idea what it meant. Nearly wet herself laughing when I told her
+Good Tradition by Tanita Tikaram. German-born English folksy singer. She’s included on the Lesbians Like Us album so I assume she’s out and proud… This track is from her 1988 debut, Ancient Heart.
The Smile and the Kiss by Bonk. This was a 1983 single release from this little known UK new wave band. Toni Holiday, the singer from Curve, sang back up but was uncredited on the release; it was her first commercial success.
Aussies by the numbers…
*+Heaven in a Black Leather Jacket by The 6ths. This gets the LGBTIQ nod for band leader Stephin Merritt, also of The Magnetic Fields. This is a 1993 single, also a track on their 1995 debut, Wasp’s Nests. All the tracks have a different lead singer…this one has Kiwi singer Robert Scott so I’m playing it with the Aussies! This is their TripleX debut, too!
*And I Love Her by 12 Strings for Jesus. Instrumental cover recorded by guitarists Bill Grose and Steve Separovich (from Adelaide band the Preytells), under the name “12 Strings for Jesus”. They never played a concert or any other live event.
*Compulsory Hero by 1927. 1989 single that won the Aria for best video in 1990.
*Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere by 5:15. This is the b-side to their better known 1982 single, Fuck Art, Let’s Dance, which I played not all that long ago.
*Space Invaders by Player 1. 1980 single that I adore. Haven’t played in a few years so it’s time.
*Feels Like a Summer Night by Ol’ 55. 1978 single from their third studio album, Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’.
Don’t Give me Your Life by Alex Party. Italian dance music project of the electronic dance and house music genre. The band consisted of the Italian brothers Paolo and Gianni Visnadi (also of Livin’ Joy), DJ Alex Natale and vocalist Robin ‘Shanie’ Campbell. This is their best known single, released in1994.
Is that Love by Squeeze. 1981 single, the first from East Side Story, their 4th studio album, also from 1981.
I won’t Take the Blame by DelAmitri. From Change Everything, their 3rd studio album, released in 1992. They are, of course, amongst the Scottish bands on the cd from Moira…liked ‘em so much I got this album!
See You by Depeche Mode. Their fourth UK single, the first written by Martin Gore. The single was released on 29 January 1982 and was later included on the band’s second album A Broken Frame.
Colored Lights by The Blasters. Track written by John Mellencamp for this band’s second album, Hard Line, released in 1985. They formed in 1979 in Downey, California, by brothers Phil Alvin and Dave Alvin, with bass guitarist John Bazz and drummer Bill Bateman.
You Hurt Me by Shark Vegas. They were a Berlin-based W German synth pop group from the 1980s. This is their 1984 debut single.
Can you Dig It? by The Mock Turtles. 1991 relatively big hit for this English indie band that had been rockin Manchester since 1985.
