+YMCA by The Village People. 1978 song by that became a hit in January 1979. The song reached #2 on the U.S. charts in early 1979 and reached No.1 in the UK and here around the same time, becoming the group’s biggest hit ever. It is one of the fewer than thirty all-time singles to have sold 10 million (or more) copies worldwide. Amongst its many other accolades, it is number 7 on VH1’s list of The 100 Greatest Dance Songs of the 20th Century.

*Earth Mother by Kev Carmody. Aboriginal singer best known for From Little Things, Big Things Grow. From his third album, Bloodlines, released in 1993. Instrumental.

*Let My Children Be by Ruby Hunter. 1994 single release. She was an Aboriginal singer best known for her partnership with Archie Roach. She died in 2010.

*Djapanna Sunset Dreaming by Yothu Yindi. From their 1988 debut album, Homeland Movement. Several versions were also on their second album, Tribal Voice.

*+Inanay by Tiddas. From their 1994 album Sing About Life. The album peaked at #36 on the ARIA charts, achieved gold record sales in Australia (35,000 copies sold), was nominated ‘Breakthrough Artist – Album’, and won ‘Best Indigenous Record’ at the 1994 ARIA awards. It’s a Koori song and the lyrics are sacred so aren’t published anywhere…or shouldn’t be!

*My Island Home by Warumpi Band. From the 1988 album ‘Go Bush’. coming from Papunya, Northern Territory, Australia. The band was formed in 1980 by Neil Murray, a Victorian “whitefella” working in the region as a schoolteacher and labourer, George Burarrwanga, from Elcho Island, and local boys Gordon and Sammy Butcher but has had many different lineups thru the years. In 1983, the band recorded “Jailanguru Pakarnu”, the first song using an Aboriginal language in a rock music format.

*Black Boy by Coloured Stone. 1984 debut single for this SA Aboriginal band.

I’ll still be Loving You by Restless Heart. Fulfilling a dare to continue playing at least a little country music here is this country band’s first cross-over hit on the adult contemporary top 40 and second number one country single. The single went to number one for one week and spent a total of thirteen weeks within the country top 40.

I’m Still Alive by Pearl Jam. Request. It’s their debut single, released in 1991 from their first album, Ten.

Still Angry by Book of Love. We all have an ex- who fits this bill! This is the 3^rd track off their self-titled debut album from 1986.
