Heteronormativity – it’s a word we hear thrown around a little bit – but what does it actually mean?
Hetronormativity is a way of thinking that assumes that people who meet binary gender roles and participate in a heterosexual lifestyle are normal, and everyone who sits outside of this is different or the ‘other’.
During this episode I talk to school students Finn and Emma about how these ideas impact LGBTQIA+ people and particularly how they are affecting our youth.
