Conversion Therapy

The practice of gay conversion therapy will be banned in Victoria after the Health Complaints Commissioner found overwhelming evidence it does serious and long-term harm to those who receive it.

in 2018, a landmark report conducted by La Trobe University and the Human Rights Law Centre highlighted disturbing testimonies from people who went through a form of gay conversion therapy — some willingly, others by force — in an attempt to become straight.

This week, Michael speaks with Anthony Venn Brown – founder and CEO of ABBI (Ambassadors and Bridge Builders International) and formerly of Freedom2B – a network for GLBTIQ people from Pentecostal, Charismatic and Evangelical backgrounds.

Since 2000 Anthony Venn-Brown has worked in the often volatile space of faith and sexuality and helped thousands of people resolve faith/sexuality conflict.
