Queer Melbourne Fringe Shows

Festival Producer Caitlin Ellen Moore and Performer Mary Angley join Jack and Michael to discuss their upcoming shows at Melbourne Fringe.

You’re All Invited To My Son Samuel’s Fourth Birthday Party (AKA SAMUEL) is a shimmering, hyper-colour attempt at extinguishing the flames of the apocalypse, one birthday candle at a time.

Part-theatre, part-standup, part-PowerPoint Presentation, Grief Lightning explores ideas of gender, pop culture, and obsession.

SAMUEL runs 6-19 October, and Grief Lightning runs 15-23 October as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

We also discuss how artists and festivals responded and recovered to the pandemic.

Check out our other JOY Podcasts for more on HIV, COVID-19 and queer health & wellbeing.

If there’s something you’d like us to explore on the show, send through ideas or questions at wellwellwell@joy.org.au
