Conductor en mass

Arts, Health, News & Politics, Society & Culture

One of the great privileges of presenting Word For Word, is that we get to talk to people who are at the top of their game.
Today’s guest was born in Australia but it is her work in the USA and indeed around the world that she is known for.
Three decades of directing orchestras, choirs, operas, ballet, and musicals in the USA, England, and Australia have made her one of the most versatile conductors of her generation.
She specialises in the one thing that most in her field would shudder at the mere thought.
Dr Kathleen McGuire likes to conduct choirs, orchestras, operas and ballets….but she goes straight for the BIG ones….
