High School Teacher ‘comes out’ – meet Nathan (Mr.) Smith

For all LGBTI people ‘coming out’ is an individual and very personal process.  But ‘coming out’ happens in many ways and often we find we have to do it over and over again if we are to live authentically.

Today’s guest is a 25yo high school teacher in Victoria’s Public Education System.  Last year he chose to tell his teaching colleagues and students that he was gay.  Not an easy thing to do in a rough school with a diverse student population, many of whom come from strong religious backgrounds.

Nathan Smith is a change-maker – a passionate teacher dedicated to his craft and his students – and an inspiration to all LGBTI people of all ages.
