Your Guide To collecting Records with John Tait and Mike Evans

Mike EvansJohn Tait owns and runs a popular little record store in the north-western suburbs of Melbourne. His extensive record collection began in 1974, with Rick Wakeman’s Journey to the Centre of the Earth. His record vending career took off sometime in the 1990s, when he outbid 500 others for a CD collection that had been confiscated by the Sheriff’s Office.

John is the author of the much-loved music biography Vanda & Young, and the co-author of Captain Matchbox & Beyond. He has written various articles, reviews, liner notes, letters to the editor, and rock obituaries.

His latest book Tait’s Modern Guide To Record Collecting shares anecdotes, tips and insider secrets of how best to preserve, trade and enjoy your archive of musical masterpieces.

Melbourne DJ Mike Evans, himself an avid collector, has rooms full of vinyl records which he is keen to sell.  Mike joins the conversation to get expert advice from John.
