Grant MaynardAt 9 years of age, Grant Maynard discovered he had Perthes Disease, a congenital condition that despite a hip replacement at 30, has meant he now gets around in a wheelchair.

On Word For Word we discover what it’s like to grow up being told things will get better, only to find they get worse.  In addition to dealing with his condition, Grant is a survivor of exgay therapy and has recovered from a crystal meth addiction.  His determination and resilience is extraordinary.

So what is it like to be a 34 year old gay man in a wheelchair?  Find out from a man whose life has always been in transition.
