“We are expressing serious concern about both the original detention of the activists and the subsequent actions of the police” said Amnesty International’s Africa director Audrey Gaughran. Zimbabwean police have raided and closed the GALZ headquarters. On August 27, 2012, police shut Gays And Lesbians of Zimbabwe (GALZ), despite the fact that it has a legal right to operate.
