LEBANON: A RAINBOW BEACON OF HOPE IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Africa and the Middle East, News & Politics

Lebanon FlagThe Middle East is not known for its acceptance of anything LGBTI.  So when there is some positive news, it serves as a beacon of hope to the rainbow community across the region.  That beacon came this week from the Court of Appeal in Lebanon.

– What did the court rule and what makes this particular ruling significant?

– How did the reading of a theatre play lead to the shutdown of Beirut Pride?

– Will there be a Beirut Pride in 2019?

From the battle lines for basic rights in Lebanon, we were joined by Hadi Damien, founder of Beirut Pride (www.facebook.com/BeirutPride).

Broadcast: July 17, 2018
