This week, the annual Midsumma Festival commences! We have 22 days of the best queer arts, culture, events, parties and Pride. It’s a change for Victoria’s rainbow community to show its true colours. Midsumma is also a celebration of difference and diversity. And the celebration goes beyond the boundaries of the state of Victoria.

In exploring some of the internationally focused events, tonight we turn to our regional neighbours of the Pacific. Storytelling is a vital way of communicating across generations and across cultures. And there is a Midsumma event that will do just that – Queer Pasifika: The Rebirth of The Cool. We will be joined in the studio by the Samoan fa’afafine host of the event, Amao Leota Lu.
