Many Coloured Sky – Standing by Queer Asylum Seekers

Many Coloured SkyConflicts across the globe have seen a rise in asylum seekers worldwide. Escaping war or persecution can be even more challenging if you are LGBTIQ. We have heard stories of continued persecution in refugee camps and escapes to countries where queer people are still not welcome. And what about when you arrive in your resettlement country? How do you start from scratch to forge a new life in an unknown land?

One organisation that is standing by queer asylum seekers is Many Coloured Sky. They support LGBTIQ+ organisations with capacity building, planning and project development, and empower those at the margins and intersections of LGBTIQ+ communities to participate fully and equally. Ian Seal, the founder of Many Coloured Sky, joins us in this World Wide Wave podcast.
