Mozambique: Progress but still fighting for official recognition

The sunny shores of Mozambique in the south east of Africa called and the World Wide Wave team answered.

As one of the more progressive African states for LGBTI rights, what is it really like being gay in Mozambique? Living next to Zimbabwe with its harsh anti-gay laws, does this have any impact? And what is preventing Mozambique’s only LGBT organisation from being officially recognised?

To understand gay life in Mozambique, we spoke with Danillo De Silva and Frank Lileza from LAMBDA – Mozambique’s only LGBT organisation.
