China: Changing attitudes led by the young

Asia/Pacific

We head behind the Great Wall to uncover gay life in China.

With records dating back to the 6th century showing acceptance of same-sex relations, what changed in China to make homosexuality illegal? Are the winds of change blowing with young Chinese people being more open to gays and lesbians? Could the local gay community be starting to find its own voice?

To understand gay life in China, tonight we speak with Felix, a Chinese born student now living in Melbourne.

Find out more on W3JOY’s China homepage.
