USA Special: LGBTI Rights Envoy, Randy Berry

Flag_USABroadcast – 16 Feb 2016

In April 2015, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry appointed the first ever Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons. During his visit to Asia, JOY 94.9 was invited to join a select group of media to discuss LGBTI rights in Asia and the Pacific with this senior U.S. diplomat.

  • What is the role of private businesses in advancing LGBTI rights?
  • What comes first – decriminalisation or anti-discrimination laws?
  • And, is same-sex marriage in Australia seen as a driver of regional LGBTI rights?

To view LGBTI rights in Asia and the Pacific from a United States perspective, we bring you a special interview with U.S. Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons – Randy Berry.
