South Africa: AIDS 2016 comes to an end

AIDS2016Broadcast – 26 July 2016

During July, more than 18,000 global leaders, scientists, advocates, and frontline health workers gathered in Durban, South Africa for the 21st International AIDS Conference – AIDS 2016.

Some topics were new, others had been spoken about before. But for all, the goal was the same – the end of AIDS by 2030.

  • Can you cure HIV and AIDS with medicine alone?
  • How does gender impact the future goal of ending AIDS?
  • What is the role of the world’s youth in the fight against HIV?

From Durban in South Africa, we hear from:

  • Oscar award winning actress, native South African and AIDS activist – Charlize Theron
  • Continuing his mothers work in AIDS, Prince Harry
  • Scientist Krista Lauer
