Listeners’ Requests
Hi Listeners,
This week we are turning the program over to you, our listeners. We have selected twelve songs requested by regular listeners to Yesterday Once More. It is a tribute to these listeners who have supported and encouraged us over the past two years. We are sorry we couldn’t play all requests, but there will be another time.
We also asked the listeners to tell us why they have selected their song and we received some interesting responses:
It was 1972, I was 15, and stayed at a boarding school. One rainy and dark evening I was listening, laying on my bed with a little one-ear headphone, to my little transistor radio. From my bed I watched the lights in the rain outside while Radio Luxembourg played “Hold Your Head Up” from Argent.
It was like Radio Luxembourg played it only for me…. An intense moment.
Walter from Hasselt, Belgium
And:
I love your program. I request ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ by Johnny Mathis- a wonderful openly gay singer with a velvet voice. Being an African American man he would also have…………wonderful velvet skin.
Frank from Glenhuntly.
Other artists we will feature are Dusty Springfield, Foreigner, Masters Apprentices, Gene McDaniels and The Exciters.
So we hope you enjoy the mix.
