Yesterday Once More

Not A Love Song

Music

Hi Listeners

This week on Yesterday Once More there is no love. Not a whiff. For one week we are banning all songs concerned with love. It’s not that we are against love, it’s just that every week there are always love songs on our program. So for a change, we want to present songs that are not about love. The result is a program of interesting and catchy songs covering many topics. There are songs with political and social themes such as the Beatles’ ‘Revolution’ and Don Fardon’s lament for the Cherokee Indians in ‘Indian Reservation.’ and Laura Nyro’s ‘Save The Country.’ There is even a song about an historical battle (admittedly biased) by Johnny Horton in the ‘Battle Of New Orleans.’ and a shipwreck (Wreck Of The John B) by Jimmy Rodgers.

Aussie songs are represented by the blind DJ, Grantley Dee, with his popular cover ‘Let The Little Girl Dance’, Bobby and Laurie’s unusual account of hitch hiking in ‘Hitch Hiker’ and Liv Maesson’s sweet “Snowbird.’ Of special interest too is a very early hit from one of our most famous divas (Peggy Lee) with her amusing song about laziness in ‘Manana.’

So put aside your loving feelings for this week and enjoy some different songs
