Yesterday Once More

Songs Beginning With Pronouns

Music

Hi Listeners

We’re back again after a short break. It’s an easy theme this week: songs beginning with pronouns. Remember your English lessons at school? Pronouns are words used in place of nouns e.g you, he, she, we, I, and they. We seem to have a predominance of ‘you’ songs in the program this week. Starting with our own Billy Field’s impressive ‘You Weren’t In Love With Me’ to a rare but excellent song from Paul Weller and Style Council ‘You’re The Best Thing’. Daryl Braithwaite’s cover of the Cilla Black hit ‘You’re My World’ is here and a Beatles cover ‘You Really Got A Hold On Me’.

Other pronouns are prominent in Michael Jackson’s plea for world peace ‘We Are The World’, a religious hit from the fifties was Al Hibbler’s ‘He’ and also Jim Diamond’s big hit ‘I Should Have Known Better’. Another ‘I’ song is the catchy ‘I Want To See You Tonight’ performed by duo England Dan And Ford Coley. Finally, ‘she’ gets an airing from Jay And The Americans ‘She Cried’ and completing the program is our own Easybeats with “She’s So Fine’.
