Anything Goes

Music

Hi Listeners,

This week I’ll be sharing the studio with Frank from Glen Huntly, one of the regular listeners to the program. Musically, the show will be songs of choice from Frank and myself. One of my favourite singers from the fifties and sixties is Dion (Love Came To Me) and one of Frank’s is GLBTI performer, Johnny Mathis (Wonderful Wonderful]. ‘Tell Him’ by The Exciters has a special place in Frank’s life and I can always remember sitting at the kitchen table doing my homework and hearing the gorgeous ‘To Know Him Is To Love Him’ by the Teddy Bears.

Another of Frank’s all time karaoke favurites is ‘Run Samson Run’ from Neil Sedaka while the falsetto tones of Jimmy Jones [Handy Man] have always excited me. I’m very pleased that Frank has included our own GLBTI darling, Dusty Springfield, with her huge hit, ‘You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me’. Brian Wilson of Beach Boys fame once described the Ronette’s ‘Be My Baby’ as the perfect pop song. Frsnk has included ‘Rave On’ from that genius, Buddy Holly and I have settled on the jaunty, catchy ‘Come On Eileen’ by Dexy’s Midnight Runners.

Australian stars, Johnny O’Keeefe (She’s My Baby) and Normie Rowe (It’s Not Easy) are also featured with two of their biggest hits.
