Instrumental hits were a big feature of pop charts during the 50s, 60s and 70s. Since then they have faded from the music scene. In this, our second program on instrumental hits, we feature probably the world’s pre-eminent rock solo guitarist (Duane Eddy) of the era, the most successful English instrumental group (The Shadows) and the most successful drummer of the era (Sandy Nelson). The Aussie highlight of the week is The Denvermen with a surf classic ‘Surfside’.
