Farewells

This week we said farewell to statewide lockdowns and to entertainment icon, Bert Newton. This program is packed with music ‘legends’. Introducing the show is Jamaican-American icon, Harry Belafonte, who introduced calypso music to the world among many other achievements. His ‘Jamaica Farewell’ was a huge hit world wide. Other ‘legends’ include Perry Como (For The Good Times), Elton John (Candle In The Wind), Ray Charles (Hit The Road Jack) and Joni Mitchell with her quirky ‘Big Yellow Taxi’ and The Beatles (Hello Goodbye). Singer/songwriter Paul Simon presents one of his solo hits ’50 Ways To Leave Your Lover’ and the band Chicago is included with their poignant ‘If You Leave Me Now’. Aussie legend Col Joye celebrates over 60 active years in the Australian music scene with one of his big hits, ‘Bye Bye Baby’. Concluding the program are catchy songs from Del Shannon (So Long Baby) and The Four Seasons ‘Bye Bye Baby’ (Goodbye).
