Going Solo

This week, Going Solo, we present a range of artists who were once leaders or members of musical groups and then went out on their own.

A selection of their performances as solo artists include: former Supremes lead singer Diana Ross, Dusty Springfield a member of the Lana Sisters and the Springfields and Eric Clapton who performed with the Yardbirds / Cream/ Blind Faith and Derek & the Dominos.

Australians Kate Ceberano sang with her group I’m Talking and Ronnie Burns hit the music scene as a member of the Flies.

Linda Rondstat started out leading the Stone Poneys while George Harrison and John Lennon were members of the famous Beatles.  Buddy Holly fronted the Crickets, Lindsey Buckingham was with Fleetwood Mac,Ben E King the Drifters and Len Barry started out with the Dovells.
