FEATURED ARTISTS 12

The first hour of this week’s shows is Featured Artists presenting the Swedish group ABBA and the Australian group Air Supply.

ABBA, the pop group, formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. They won the Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Waterloo’ in 1974. They went on to become one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from 1974 to 1982, selling over 356 million records.

Air Supply is a soft rock duo, comprising singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell  and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock. They had a succession of hits worldwide, including 8 top-ten hits in the US in the early 1980s. They formed in Australia in 1975 and in December 2013 were inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame.
