Rivers and Bridges

Olivia Newton-John starts this week’s program with her murder ballad ‘Banks of the Ohio’. This is followed by the theme song from that delightful movie ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ sung by Andy Williams (Moon River). Another movie theme is the march from ‘Bridge on the River Kwai’ performed by Mitch Miller and his orchestra and chorus. This week’s class is evident in the beautiful voices of Patti Page (Mister and Mississippi) and Jo Stafford (On London Bridge). Another highlight is the universally acclaimed and popular song ‘Bridge over Troubled Water’ by American duo, Simon & Garfunkel. Australia is also represented by ‘Love is a Bridge’ (Little River Band) and ‘Yellow River’ (Jigsaw).
