The Senses

Music

Hi Listeners,

Mossy is on holidays! Yes, she will be off air for three weeks. So, for the first week I will be doing the program solo. In the second week I will have a host guest and in the third week I will be on my own again.

This week the theme is ‘The Senses’. We have five main senses: hearing, seeing, touching, tasting and smelling. But scientists also argue that we have others too – such as the sense of hot and cold (Thermoception). So this week the music will be all about sensations. The sense of sight is the most common in music so it will be represented by songs such as Wizzard’s ‘See My baby Jive’ and Art Garfunkel’s smooth rendition of ‘I Only Have Eyes for You’. Touch is there with the Beatles’ ‘I Want To Hold Yoor Hand’ and The Platters ”The Magic Touch.

There are a couple of taste songs: ‘A Taste of Honey’ from Herb Alpert and a David and Jonathan song ‘How Bitter The Taste Of Love.’ Unfortunately I couldn’t find any ‘smelly’ songs, but have included an interesting thermoception rendition of ‘I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm’ from fifties singer, Kay Starr.

Sit back and enjoy
