This week’s playlist focuses mainly on artists who came from either Liverpool or Manchester during the fabulous Merseybeat 60’s era. The Beatles are the most famous group to emerge from Liverpool while other big names include Cilla Black, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Billy J Kramer, The Searchers, Billy Fury, the Swinging Blue Jeans and Flock of Seagulls in the late 70’s. Similarly Manchester produced a range of high charters namely the Hollies, the Bee Gees, Herman’s Hermits, Wayne Fontana & the Mind Benders, Freddie & the Dreamers and 10cc in the early 1970’s.
