Yesterday Once More

Songs that didn’t make the Top 40

50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, Nostalgia, Songs

Some singles are released and never reach the top 40 charts but later become more popular than those that did.

Here are some near-hit songs that get a lot of attention and airplay today. ACDC’s Highway to Hell was released at a time when hard rock wasn’t all

that popular reaching only #47 in the US. Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now couldn’t pass #53 on the Australian charts and

ABBA’s Super Trouper managed a lowly #77. Billy Fury’s re-release of Rebel Yell made the UK charts reaching #6,  whereas David Bowie couldn’t crack the  top 40 with either releases of Changes in 1972 (#86 US) and 1975  (#53 AUS).
