Yesterday Once More

25 May 2025

Sweet Sugar

50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, Music, Nostalgia, Songs

This saccharine-soaked program focuses on songs about sweetness. There are two songs with the title Sweet Dreams. One is the debut single from that great duo Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart singing as the Eurhythmics and the power ballad from ex Aussies Air Supply with their song of the same name. Other notable Aussie songs are Russell Morris’s knockout Sweet Sweet Love and Daddy Cool’s cheeky Cherry Pie. The Archies had a number one hit with Sugar Sugar while the Rolling Stones belt out Brown Sugar. A quirky inclusion is American country star Kitty Wells with her version of the old McGuire Sister’s hit Sugartime.

PLAYLIST:

  • Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) – Eurythmics
  • Sugar Sugar – The Archies
  • Sweet Caroline – Neil Diamond
