On May 13, 2015, City of Moonee Valley hosted the launch of Rainbow Stories in the Valley, stories of people in the community who identify as either lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ).
The event was hosted by Daniel Witthaus, Founder and CEO of the National Institute for Challenging Homophobia Education (NICHE) and coincided with International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia (also known as IDAHOBIT (May 17). Local residents, members of council and supporters of those involved, joined together for the celebration.
JOY 94.9 thanks the City of Moonee Valley for inviting us to cover the event and being a part in Rainbow Stories in the Valley. We hope this is the start of some great collaborations between this progressive city council and Australia’s only GLBTIQ community radio station, JOY 94.9.
