Welcome to the 8^th March Touch Of Pink blog page, it will be 2 hours chock of all that is a little bit girlie and a little bit gay, dancepop, indietronica, call it what you like, it’s the best of the best (in my opinion) from all over the world.

My favourites for this show are a new Bright Light Bright Light track and a duet with Sir Elton John no less, an interesting cover from Chvrches, new stuff from Marc Almond ft Jarvis Cocker, the 1975, the Young Punx, a gorgeous new boyband called Rixton, and a new Saturdays song. Woohoo !!!!

Single Of The Week is “I Wish We were Leaving” from Bright Light Bright Light and Elton John. BLBL is really going from strength to strength. His new album “Life Is Easy” will be out in July. Plus he is very cute. Elton John, not so much!

What Have We Seen ThIs Week ?

Show : Kid Creole And The Coconuts @ The Recital Centre : They’ve been around since 1980 with their mix of Latin American, Carribean, Trinidadian and big band styles, and up beat, uptempo festival on stage. And they did not disappoint, with tracks like Annie I’m Not Your Daddy, The Lifeboat Party, Don’t Take My Coconuts, Stool Pigeon etc, it was a 90 minute explosion of sound, and the audience was up and dancing for last 30 minutes with a conga line down the front of the stage.

Film : Nebraska : This was such a lovely movie, slowish, but a wonderful study of off the main road Americana, in black and white and what felt like 60 years back in time. The plot followed a son taking his father to try and collect a million dollars that he had supposedly won in an advertising scam. The two day journey involved visiting friends and relatives along the way, and a stranger bunch of characters you’re unlikely to meet. Excellent.
