Welcome to another Touch Of Pink blog page, 2 hours chock full of dance pop, a little bit girlie and a little bit gay, from all around the world. Well, what did you expect?

So much great new music coming out already, the new Kylie album, Rufus’ greatest hits and a ”live” CD, Above & Beyond do a beautiful acoustic CD, Katy B’s CD gets better with every listening and Almighty have a double CD of dance covers of UK Pop Idol/X Factor songs.

My particular favourites for this show are Bebe Zahara Benet (she’s fierce!), Davidge, London Grammar, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Teeth and Tongue, Erasure and RuPaul.

Single Of The Week is “Face” from Bebe Zahara Benet, not just because it’s amazing, but she was the winner of RuPaul’s first Drag Race in 2009, and who doesn’t love a bit of vogueing and bling.

Guilty Pleasure of the week (which I’ll try to schedule for next week) is “Horny” from Lonnie Gordon, and the video is soooooo cheap and trashy, I love it. The boys in the hot tub look a bit scared of her.

What Have We Seen ThIs Week ?

Film: Tracks: I loved this film about the Aussie lady who walked across the dessert from Alice Springs to the ocean on the west coast, with 4 camels and a dog. Admittedly it was fairly slow, but it gave you time to appreciate the scope and the beauty of the Australian scenery, and I think we get too caught up in these zap-bang megaplex movies that we have trouble just sitting back and actually watching a movie. Worth a look.

FILM: Last Vegas: One of those popcorn fun-to-see movies about four old codgers who go to Las Vegas for a bucks night party for the one who is getting married to a woman half his age. Lots of old people jokes, and great performances from some seasoned entertainers. One to see if there isn’t much else on.

Top 5 films I am particularly looking forward to are:

1. Freefall – a German film about two policeman (one who doesn’t realise he is bisexual) who fall in love.

2. Gerontophilia – the new Bruce La Bruce film. How can he possibly top LA Zombie ?

3. Burning Blue – about gays in the US Airforce. I saw the play onstage in London in 1995, so I’m really looking forward to this because the play was excellent.

4. Hawaii – the new film from Marco Berger, the Argentinean director of Plan B.

5. I Am Divine – a documentary about Divine, too too divine.
