Welcome to the Touch Of Pink blog page. More great new pop tracks this week from a few gays, plus more previously unheard acts, such as Sirens Of Lesbos (see above picture), and a couple of divaaaaz, Mary and Nicole. Both of whom have new albums out, The London Sessions and Big Fat Lie, and both albums are wonderful.
To be honest there are a lot of great albums coming out now for Christmas that I could recommend. Being a Girls Aloud fan I can recommend the new Cheryl album Only Human, also available locally. And so many cover albums that you might like, such as Annie Lennox’s Nostalgia, Aretha Franklin Sings The Diva Classics, Amanda Lear sings Elvis on My Happiness (I Love Elvis, Tony Bennett/Lady GaGa on Cheek To Cheek, and not forgetting, saving the best for last, Bette Midler’s It’s The Girls.
My Single Of The Week is ‘Dangerous’ by Rumer. She is an amazing UK singer and her 3rd album Into Colour has just released. Her music is sorta lounge/Burt Bacharach style, cool and sexy, but rarely in the charts. However this new single, which is a bit retro/Motown may just be the one to break her. It’s Poptastic! Have a listen now….
Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from 6-7pm for a bakers dozen of fab-u-lous tracks. Your host is Dick.

What have I seen lately?
FILM : What we did on our holidays: Part of the British Film Festival, this was a fun filled romp by a dysfunctional family up to Scotland to celebrate the grandfather’s 75th birthday. Everything that could go wrong, did, but it was very funny, and touching, and a little bit sentimental. In other words, a feel good crowd pleaser. Take your Mum. I did and she loved it.
Dick’s Top 6 Videos This Week
Erasure: Reason (80’s electropoppers back on the up again)
Sirens of Lesbos: Long Days, Hot Nights (curiously appealing)
