Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home site for a look at the fun side of modern pop. Tonight we have some great new tracks, plus a few covers that are pretty exciting. As usual the Almighty organization produces great dance covers and tonight we have Ella Henderson’s Ghosts. Amanda Lear has a cover of an Elvis hit from her album of Elvis tributes called My Happiness. Then there is my single of the week (see below).

Once again I can’t praise Steve Grand’s album All American Boy too highly. He is a gay country singer and he’s also quite good looking. Win-win. Check it out on your on-line store.

My Single Of The Week is ‘Tom’s Diner” Giorgio Moroder (featured image). This is the fourth track I’ve heard from Giorgio’s forthcoming album Déjà vu due on 12^th June. They are all brilliant, but this track I remember when it came out as a dance track by DNA, based on a sample from the Suzanne Vega song. I loved it then and I love this cover now, even with the Britney byatch singing on it. I dare you not to tap your toes. Giorgio has really made it his own.

What have I seen at the theatre/multiplex lately?

Film : Boychoir : This is one of those feelgood movies, about a troubled young lad who manages to get into a Boychoir School, and gradually manages to channel his anger into his amazing singing. It stars Dustin Hoffman, Kathy Bates, Eddie Izzard and Kevin McHale (Artie from Glee) as the teachers and a wonderful group of boys as the choir. It follows the choir as they learn and ravel around the country performing, and a few rivalries cro up. But it is the singing that really puts this movie over the top. Definitely worth considering.
