Chris, Gordon, Bali 2002, Deep Water, Westgate Br., Snowy, Tex

Chris returns from his holiday break and re-joins the BTDT Team, while Colin enjoys a well-earned rest after filling-in for Chris. Also, Gordon is having a milestone birthday this week!!

Chris reports on some aspects of his holiday adventures, including how Germany is settling Syrian refugees. Then we remember the 2002 bombing in the Sari Nightclub in Bali, and are reminded of the homophobic attacks and murders in Sydney in the ‘70s replayed in the current ABC drama series “Deep Water”, prefacing the 1998 crime in the US against Matthew Shepard.

Victoria remembers the loss of life in the 1970 Westgate Bridge collapse when 35 were killed; and the successful engineering project ‘The Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Scheme’, built mainly with migrant refugee labour and expertise.

Gay icons who have anniversaries at this time include Tex McKenzie from ‘Well, Well. Well’, pop singer Cliff Richard, Irish Author Oscar Wilde and prolific songwriter and composer Cole Porter.

Plus some trivia, mirth and much more ….
