Adam Simmons and Ray Pereira visited the Bent Notes Studio in April to chat about Adam’s latest work in The Usefulness Of Art series – The Calling.
Created after Adam’s recent first visit to his Mother’s homeland, the work is inspired by the sounds, experiences and culture of Sri-Lanka.
Adam invited Ray Pereira to join him in the work to provide the rhythmic associations using Ray’s Afrolankan drumming system.
The Calling premiered at Forty-Five Downstairs in May 2018. The next work in the series is scheduled for premiere in July 2018.
Hear all about “The Calling” in this discussion with David Moyle on Bent Notes.
Adam Simmons and Ray Pereira were guests of Bent Notes on Sunday April 29, 2018.
