Guitarist and composer Alex Stuart moved from Australia to Paris in 2005. He creates cross-cultural music blending jazz, rock, pop and groove with the music of many cultural traditions.
Following the tragic events of the November 2015 attacks in Paris Alex noted the defiant nature of the Parisian people which inspired him to write a piece entitled Aftermath.
Aftermath was the inspiration for a new album of the same name – a collection of pieces inspired by world events – the dark turning points and the joyfulness and beauty of life.
Alex spoke with David Moyle during Bent Notes on JOY 94.9 about the album, his exposure to so much music from his Dad’s multi-genre vinyl collection, and the joy of performing at this years Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues.
Alex Stuart was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday October 28, 2018
