Music can be an integral component of Video Games – setting the scene, and dramatising the dramatic. Sydney based group The Consouls find the music of Video Games inspiration for their Jazz interpretations, giving a whole new life to these tunes.
Double Bass player in the band, Richard Gamra spoke with David Moyle about being a gamer, and the bands joint love of gaming and jazz and why they brought themselves together to create their Jazz repertoire.
The Consouls are performing their Gaming Jazz with the music of The Legend of ZELDA in a show called OCARINA at The Malthouse this Saturday, December 15, and another Melbourne show at the Paris Cat on Sunday December 16.
Richard Gamra was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday December 9, 2018
