BROAD’s Sonja Hammer records the third Keynote Speech by Noongar woman Dorinda Cox at the United Nations Association of Australia’s National Forum on the Economic Empowerment of Women and Girls held at Melbourne’s Novotel on Monday September 5th, 2016.
Dorinda is a business owner and government policy adviser and brought her expertise on gender-based violence and experiences as an Indigenous woman.
Dorinda Cox is an Aboriginal (Noongar) woman from the South West region of WA, who has over 20 years’ experience working in government and the non-government sectors at local, State and National levels. She has recently attended the 2016 APEC Women and the Economy forum as the Indigenous Private Sector Representative on the Australian Delegation. Her current role is the Project Officer for the Keeping Kids Safe Project at the Women’s Council for Domestic and Family Violence Services WA. Dorinda also is the Managing Director of the Inspire Change Consulting Group and delivers training, speeches
