Intimates: The Arguments Surrounding Diversity

Checkpoint Intimates is a weekly podcast where two members of the team go one-on-one on a topic that they both feel strongly about, talking in a more deeper and, yes, intimate context.

This week, Elliot and Cam are ready to get heated on a topic they care about. With Apex Legends launching with a very diverse line up, both in gender, sexuality and race, the same old arguments are being dragged out by people who are threatened by change. You’ve all read them in comment threads every time a character isn’t a cis heterosexual white man.

Elliot and Cam make their way through some of the common arguments, some with a shred of a valid argument but most filled with ridiculous statements you’d expect. Cam gets heated about his sexuality not existing for any plot purposes and Elliot points out the double standard of not calling out marketing for limiting diverse rosters, only minorities that speak up.
