Interview with Adam Ibrahim from “How To Kill The Queen Of Pop” which is at the Fringe Festival

David and special co-host Simon Abrahams (CEO & Creative Director of the Melbourne Fringe Festival) interview Adam Ibrahim from How To Kill The Queen Of Pop – A murderous, drag reimagining of the 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony,  Rainbow Paradiso – Jungle Jam with the Rainbow Fam and the Fringe Hub Nights.

How To Kill The Queen Of Pop is on at the Fringe Hub: Arts House – Studio 1 from 19th to 30th September. It’s described as “Sydney. 2000. As the excitement grows for the Opening Ceremony so too do the dreams of Vanessa Amorosi’s three desperate back-up singers. But how far will they go to step out of the shadows and steal the spotlight? Bullets will fly through a sea of confetti in this fabulous black comedy. A queer spectacular for Absolutely Everybody.”

Rainbow Paradiso is on at Art Play on 1st October at 2pm and is a free Fringe event. It’s described as “Turn that binary upside down! Rainbow Paradiso is an anything-goes interactive performance party where young people of any and every flavour are welcome. Hosted by the Birds of Paradise (Hotel Now’s Simone French and Tom Halls) this is a funky jungle jam full of re-appropriated pop songs, gender-bending folk tales, high-octane group dance numbers and special guests from across the Festival rainbow. If that isn’t enough to tickle you pink, there’ll also be a wild catwalk to forgotten Savage Garden classic ‘The Animal Song’ and who could want more than that? Come help turn the status quo on its head and create an alternative alternate that embraces families of all shapes, sizes and configurations. Note that All children must be accompanied by an adult“.
