Welcome to Game On! JOY 94.9’s Home of Sport every Wednesday from 8-9pm where you’ll hear where you can get your game on! This show is all about you and how you can get your game on by showcasing where sport is safe, inclusive, welcoming and fun for the Rainbow community! And we cover topics designed to make sure you are kicking goals in life!

We are joined by Olympian Campbell Harrison! Campbell is an Olympian in the Men’s boulder and lead competition and competed in the Paris Olympics this year. As well as being an outstanding athlete we celebrate Campbell as a role model for showing his true self in a sporting environment – in Campbell’s case – at the biggest sporting event on the world stage! Is the sport of climbing the sport for you? Listen up as Campbell talks us through the ins and outs! Check out the Climbing QTs – an LGBTIQA+ climbing club which is a welcoming and inclusive community for individuals of all genders, sexualities, and identities. (2:00)

The effervescent Dion Alexander who not only is Mr Gay Pride Australia 2022 and Mr Gay World 2023 Second Runner Up, but he is also a passionate Sydney Swans supporter and member of LGBTIQA+ AFL Pride group the Rainbow Swans.

He is heading to the MCG this Saturday and will be supporting the Sydney Swans with pride. That includes wearing the team colours of red and white as well as the rainbow colours as a Rainbow Swan. Dion will be sharing with us how to be an out, loud and proud AFL and AFLW supporter! (14:16)

James Sutherland the CEO of Golf Australia joins us to share the message that everyone belongs in golf. We are thrilled that James has taken some time to chat to us and share the inclusive vision for golf in Australia. Interested in having a hit? James outlines how you can enjoy a sport that involves walking, talking and a dedicated 19th hole for a bevvy with your new found friends! Keen to join an LGBTIQA+ golf club? And this week who is featuring in our segment Who is getting their game? The AFL/AFLW of course being the AFL Grand Final Week with the Big Dance on Saturday and so many AFLW games across the week! The 2024 AFL Footy Festival has been officially opened by AFL CEO Andrew Dillon and the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos. So that means four days of free footy fun and entertainment on offer for fans of all ages to enjoy during the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final week.

All the action will be at Yarra Park outside the MCG and there will even be a Schweppes Ice Rink, player appearances, live entertainment, and some of Melbourne’s best food trucks and bars! Head on down with a welcome from Steve and Andrew to get involved and enjoy all the fun of sport! (43:00)
