Welcome to Game On! JOY 94.9’s Home of Sport every Wednesday from 8-9pm where you’ll hear where you can get your game on! This show is all about you and how you can get your game on by showcasing where sport is safe, inclusive, welcoming and fun for the Rainbow community!

We welcome Shaun McEachin, National Lead Sport Development at Squash Australia to talk with us about the commitment by Squash Australia to providing an inclusive environment for the LGBTIQA+ community and how you can enjoy this fantastic sport by taking part in the Rainbow Racquets Open Tournament in February 2025! Squash Australia is committed to creating a healthy sporting environment and a supportive community for the LGBTQIA+ community so head to Midsumma Carnival Alexandra Gardens Sports Precinct on the 19th January and say hi to the team, Squash Australia peeps will also be at the Midsumma Pride March 2nd February, and registrations are open for the Rainbow Racquets Open Tournament to be held on Saturday 1 February 2025 from 9-5pm at the State Sports Centres – MSAC. Let’s grow the Rainbow Racquets Network across across from Adelaide to Perth to Sydney, Canberra, the Gold Coast and now Melbourne! ( Starts 1min 16secs)

We are joined by Dr Simon Lynch, President of the Melbourne Smashers Badminton Club to tell us about a very prestigious sporting event happening right here in Melbourne next Saturday – the Trans Tasman Tournament on Saturday 2nd November at State Sports Centres – MSAC. And it gets better – there is a party with a spring theme to celebrate the Melbourne Smashers 10^th Anniversary Spring Ball at the Pullman! (Starts 16mins 46secs)

If you like basketball, you live in Adelaide and you are keen to expand your social circle listen up! We are joined by Asad Safi, President of the Adelaide Spectres a new LGBTIQA+ basketball club to hear all about the action that’s happening on and off the court in the coming months! And it’s a lot! The Pride March Saturday 2 November, annual Picnic in the Park as part of Feast Festival – Adelaide’s Premier LGBTQIA+ Arts and Cultural Festival, the 2025 Pride Basketball Australia Tournament, the Gay Games in Spain, and the annual NBL Pride Round held for the 3^rd time next year in Round 19 being early February 2025! Last Saturday was an incredible morning of connecting and learning at the Bupa Try Para-Sport – Victoria event at the State Sport Centres – Parkville organised by Disability Sports Australia and Paralympics Australia. Ayden Shaw, CEO of Disability Sports Australia, Russell Harrison, Para- sport climbing and Hayden a passionate wheelchair basketballer shared a message of encouragement to get involved because you are welcome in sport!
