Welcome to Game On JOY 94.9’s Home of Sport every Wednesday from 6-7pm where you’ll hear where you can get your game on! This show is all about showcasing where sport is safe, inclusive, welcoming and fun for the Rainbow community!

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Chris Pez Pezet, President Melbourne Chargers to the JOY Sport Studio to share the joys of inclusive rugby! Pez shares the significance of major events – Purchas Cup, Bingham Cup, Amanda Mark Cup and the annual Pezet-Smith Trophy! And you are invited to head along to the Pride Cup this Saturday 10 May to cheer on the Chargers for their annual Pride Game against Monash University! Kick off 1.30pm! See you on the sidelines! We talk cricket with Melanie Jones, trailblazing cricket commentator and former Australian cricket player, who will be presented with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Victorian Sport Award at the Victorian Sport Awards on Wednesday 14 May! Melanie chats about challenging stereotypes and breaking down barriers for women in sport, inclusion in cricket for the LGBTIQA+ community, and being instrumental in evacuating Afghanistan women’s cricketers safely from their homeland to Australia. And the NAB AFLW is under 100 days away from the first bounce for the 10th season! Traditional rivals Carlton and Collingwood will go head-to-head under lights at IKON Park to get the season underway on Thursday 14 August in what will be a match to reflect, celebrate and recognise the achievements of its players and the competition’s growth since 2017. The opening match will recreate one of the most iconic moments in women’s football – the inaugural ‘lockout’ game at IKON Park that saw more than 24,500 fans witness history when the first ball was bounced. And you are invited to join in all the fun across the coming months – 12 weeks of matches and 4 weeks of finals.
