Welcome to Game On JOY 94.9’s Home of Sport live every Wednesday from 6-7pm where you’ll hear where you can get your game on! This show is all about showcasing where sport is safe, inclusive, welcoming and fun for the Rainbow community!

Contact sports – Monash University and GameGear have launched a world-first concussion trial including the AFL and NRL. The two year trial will assess the efficacy of headgear during elite and community football and rugby games. Graeme Attey, the industrial designer behind GameGear, joined Game On to talk design, innovation and safety. (Starts 3:12)

Basketball – The @nbl Pride Round continues for 2026 with the exciting annual @melbunited Pride Game on February 7 at John Cain Arena. It’s a home game against the Adelaide 36ers with @isaachumphries7 heating up the action on the court! @joy949 will be at the game from 6-8pm broadcasting live – make sure to pop by and say hi! – and the @melbourne_spectres will be right next to the Joy 94.9 crew! @titan_lads joined the show in the @joy949 Sport Studio to talk inclusive basketball, big plans and even bigger achievements and how you can be part of the basketball action! Luke and Sassy Scott were at the Australia Open Glam Slam hosting the One Point Glam Slam. Scott’s hubby Marcus and twin boys were courtside. In between all the tennis shenanigans, Scott took some time out to share his top tips for those pondering whether parenthood is right for them. (Starts 40:09)
